About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Cost Accountant to take ownership of all cost accounting functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to serve as a key business partner to both finance and operations, helping drive informed decision-making through accurate costing, insightful analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do
Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis
Lead the organization's cost accounting processes and provide analytical support for business decisions.
- Own product costing, standard cost development, and variance analysis.
- Maintain and improve Bills of Material (BOMs) and routing data within the ERP system.
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead variances and provide actionable insights.
- Support inventory valuation, reserves, and month-end close activities.
- Prepare account analyses, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
Operations Partnership
Collaborate with operational teams to improve profitability and support strategic decision-making.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and Purchasing teams.
- Evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities and provide financial recommendations.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through analysis of materials, processes, and suppliers.
- Assist with new product costing and margin analysis.
Operations & Process Improvement
Drive efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across financial and operational processes.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and support cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes.
- Strengthen cost-related internal controls.
- Improve costing accuracy, reporting capabilities, and data quality through ERP utilization.
- Develop reporting that enhances visibility into margins, product costs, and operational performance.
