Description of Duties:

The Claims Mailroom/Scanning Clerk will prepare all Medicaid claim types for Data Entry.  This includes opening, sorting, prepping, counting, and batching of claims and mail. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for scanning all claim types timely and accurately.

 

Job Specific Skills/Essential Functions:

  • Opens, sorts, prescreens, and scans all incoming claim types and mail.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time to pull, distribute, copy claims, or key.
  • Keys, proofs, and corrects all Medicaid claim types
  • Availability to cross-train on multiple tasks within the Claims Unit
  • Perform various clerical tasks within the Claims Unit
  • Work as a topmost trusted partner with aFit and the client.
  • Provide attention to details.
  • Approaches challenges with a positive, consultative mindset
  • Self-starter with the desire to achieve and work with integrity.
  • Willingness to grow and change through ambiguity.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to key 10K – 12K keystrokes per hour
  • Ability to function in a production-based team environment.
  • Ability to maintain 100% + of production standards.
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office products
  • Knowledge of general office equipment (fax, copier, etc.)
