Description of Duties:

The PeopleSoft / COBOL Developer involves delivering reliable and efficient solutions for new development, writing formal technical documentation, and developing and unit testing PeopleSoft programs and routines. Responsibilities also includes troubleshooting existing programs, regularly reporting work status to the supervisor, and addressing management inquiries promptly. Additionally, the developer will analyze and enhance the system using various tools.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining PeopleSoft applications using the following toolsets: PeopleSoft COBOL, Application Engine, Application Packages, Component Interface, PeopleCode, SQR, Application Messaging, and XML
  • Integration Broker setup and Maintenance
  • WSDL/Web Service Integration
  • Experience with BI publisher is a plus
  • Experience in PeopleSoft applications of HCM 9.2 or CRM 9.2
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or maintaining applications using Oracle Database 10g or higher
  • Thorough understanding of PeopleTools 8.57
  • Demonstrated experience in an IT application development environment supporting a public pension system.
  • Experience with SQL, Unix Scripting, and Phire Architect or Stat.
  • Five (5) or more years of general applications development experience is desired
  • Trained in Secure Coding Practices
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience working and collaborating with others on solutions to develop effective and efficient solutions
  • Able to perform more varied and difficult tasks
  • Able to work in a collaborative team environment to obtain best results

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study, or equivalent experience.
