Description of Duties:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst (Grants/Transportation Projects) to support the management and oversight of federal grant programs. This position is critical in ensuring compliance with federal reporting requirements, analyzing financial data, and supporting the financial tracking of various grants, including those administered by a state department.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, accounting systems, and communication, with a bonus for those familiar with FHWA/DOT-funded projects or experience using Oracle Cloud ERP and MS Access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor federal grant funding for compliance with applicable regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Compile and analyze financial and programmatic data using Excel and other tools.
  • Assist with the preparation of required reports, audits, and certification processes related to grants.
  • Use accounting systems to enter, reconcile, and retrieve financial information related to grants.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure the accurate and timely flow of grant-related information.
  • Maintain documentation and records to support audit readiness and transparency.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of federal grants and related reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including working with large datasets, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with FHWA/DOT-funded projects and certification processes, preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Access or similar databases for data compilation and formatting.
  • Prior experience with Oracle Cloud ERP or similar enterprise financial systems, preferred.
  • Able to perform more varied and difficult tasks.

Working Schedule and Travel:

Remote, some travel required for key meetings.   

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent experience.
