Description of Duties:

The Payroll Lead will oversee and drive complex payroll operations in a dynamic client-facing environment. This role requires deep expertise in payroll configuration, costing, tax, and compensation, as well as the ability to manage complex decisions and working environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through intricate payroll processes and integrations across ERP and HR systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary payroll advisor for clients, driving informed decisions in complex and fast-paced environments.
  • Guide clients through payroll-related aspects of Time and Labor (OTL), Absence Management (AM), Benefits, and Compensation.
  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Lead configuration and maintenance of payroll systems, including payroll costing, labor distribution, and payroll tax setup.
  • Manage and configure involuntary deductions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership in the setup and integration of compensation structures.
  • Design and oversee the development of complex interfaces and custom reports to meet ERP and business needs.
  • Ensure payroll data integrity, compliance, and alignment with financial and HR systems.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement payroll solutions in new system rollouts, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technical and functional teams to support system architecture, data flow, and reporting frameworks.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Required Certification:
    • Oracle Cloud Payroll
  • Experience in large-scale system implementations or migrations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for payroll and taxation.
  • Proven experience in a payroll lead or similar role, with significant client-facing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex decision-making processes across multiple stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Payroll configuration, costing, labor distribution
    • Payroll tax and involuntary deductions
    • Compensation configuration and management
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP systems.
  • Experience with interface design, reporting, and data integrations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Able to perform more varied and difficult tasks.

Working Schedule and Travel:

Remote with monthly travel to Jefferson City, MO (1x/month)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
